February 24

As stated in the previous post, Stockholm (as well as the rest of Sweden) is COVERED in snow.
If I came out in the morning to go to work and found my car like this, I would just decide to stay home that day...
Or maybe just decide to stay home until spring.

It was weird to find a toilet in Östermalm today, but it would have been weirder if someone had been using it.

I went to Stadsbiblioteket to study.
They had a warning there...
Warning thieves! You might not be the only thief out there!

Me and my Couchsurfer, Matteo, were walking back from the subway station and found this sofa.

SNOWSNOWSNOWSNOWSNOWSNOW

Spring doesn't seem anywhere in sight...

Villa Smisk, part 2

For once, my living room was reasonably clean so now you get to see the rest of my apartment!

The weeks that have passed...

It was really cold here a few weeks and snowed like crazy.
Then it got not so cold and all the snow melted and turned into ice on this bush outside my window.

My old and good friend Sergio came and visited one weekend. We were best buds in Japan when we were both exchange students and I haven't seen him since we left there 7 years ago.
We reminisced about Japan and went to a ramen restaurant.

Then...

We made onigiri at my house!
One day we went to the park with the good view called Skinnarviksparken.
Sergio went to pee...

... and ended up finding a watch when he melted the snow with his, well... yeah.
He wiped off the watch in the non yellow snow and kept it as a souvenir.

Kattson was very cute and one day posed for some photos.

I went to a party and saw some friends, Neil and Pedro.

I started a class called Speech Technology a few weeks ago.
I'm doing a project to evaluate Mac's text-to-speech system. Basically it's a thing on the Mac that will read text on the screen for the visually impaired.
I started running the tutorial for how to use it and when I got to the "Practicing Webpage Navigation" part I saw something HILARIOUS!
The way it works is you press the arrow key to move to the next area on the webpage. It will read a headline, then a paragraph, etc. If it gets to a picture it will read (I guess) the name of the file.
Well for some reason the creators of the VoiceOver program decided to use a sample website called
"Let's learn about lemurs"

I though that was funny until I got to the next page...

While clicking through the photos the voice reads outloud...
"Closeup of lemur playing with tail JPEG image."
HAHAHAHHA!

It's cold here

Stockholm, the frozen view...
