Grilling at Merrick's house again

Padfoot tries to escape when he goes outside so he has to be on a leash. So cute!
He likes to eat lots of grass too.
Asparagus and shallot scapes waiting to be grilled!

South by Southwest and visit from Sarah and Sam

Sarah's birthday was the day before she came to Austin so I made her a cake!

On our first day we checked out a boot store, and I posed with the mini cake I was giving to a friend.

One of the cats was sleeping on the bed with me at night and she scratched me when I woke up suddenly, poked her in the face and scared her :(
On our 3rd day of South by we went into a vintage sign shop and checked it out...
 Some cute doggies needed adopting.
We also saw Wanda Jackson play
as well as a band called Hot Club of Cowtown from Austin, who apparently was the first band to tour Azerbaijan!
We also met this goat who lives in someone's yard
and walked past the deer processing plant!
On our third day we got off the bus downtown and immediately saw this couple.
Then we ended up somewhere and saw this girl perform who sounded a lot like a lesbian hip hop duo from Tampa called Yo Majesty that we saw play in Stockholm when Sarah came and visited. We then found out this girl's DJ is their DJ and I think she got mad that we compared her to them. Woops! I think she also has a tattoo of herself!
We also managed to squeeze in a visit to Brian of Awesome Tapes From Africa.
On our last day of South by we started the day off with some bloody mary's and...
now my new friend Sam who I met on the bus to New Orleans joined us!
That night we saw Khaira Arby and her band play!
 Straight outta Timbuktu ya'll!

And now for some hilarious photos of Sarah!!

To finish up South by and Sarah and Sam's visit to Austin we headed to the Salt Lick, a seemingly SUPER POPULAR BBQ place south of Austin, judging by the approximately 200 people who were also there.
This guy was hopeful the hipsters hadn't been able to finish all their PBR before they left.
And last, here we are at the Salt Lick posing with our awesome shirts!
